Roommate refuses to pay his $12 portion of the internet bill because his roommate accidentally ate 2 of his eggs: 'I tried to rectify the situation by buying a new carton'

My least favorite thing about roommates is having four egg cartons in the fridge. Let me rephrase: the worst thing about having roommates you don't communicate with is having four egg cartons in the refrigerator. If you have three roommates who can engage in more than a five-word conversation with each other, you are probably able to share kitchen essentials like spices, condiments, and basic ingredients like milk and eggs. My roommate and I have an "I'll get eggs this time if you get eggs next time" arrangement, and it works out great for us. She uses more eggs, so she buys eggs more often. But if you and three strangers are living together, chances are your fridge will be pretty packed if everybody buys their own eggs, milk, ketchup, and so on. I'm not saying it's wrong, but it's a less-than-ideal living setup, even if you buy all your food.

    wasn't aware of what followed after - apparently there was a misunderstanding and the eggs he took weren't the ones I bought but another roommate's (who will call F). F confronted D and I guess D seems to think I lied to him, never bought new eggs, and lied to him so he could take F's eggs. Fast forward two months later

    - I'm in charge of the Verizon WiFi bill meaning everyone zelles/Venmos me for it ($50 total or $12.50 each) and D refused to pay his portion, disrespected me by calling me 'kid' (I'm older than him lol) and just crashed out and accused me of lying about the situation. Eventually he agreed to pay me $9 which he did, but I'm still pretty uncomfortable with the hostile energy

    he's brought into the apartment. I'm trying to just let it go and keep the peace for the next three months but he has a pattern of throwing these tantrums and has done it with our other roommates about another situation.     9994204L If I were in your shoes I'd let him have that 3$, and if u ain't flat broke go buy one of boxes of 5 dozen eggs for 20$ put em in fridge with a note that says communal eggs take what you want, then if he try's pulling any sh in future other roommates will realize he's a nut and your not scheming for free eggs
